Meet the experienced and friendly doctors and staff who make True Vision Optometry a proud provider of vision care products and services in Montebello.

Maria Esther Salado, OD, FAAO

Dr. Maria Esther Salado completed her Doctor of Optometry with honors from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. Prior to completing her doctorate degree, she attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology. Her clinical externships focused on primary care, ocular diseases, and specialty training in low vision. She also completed an additional year of advanced training on ocular disease and geriatric care at the VA Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center and Nursing Home.

During optometry school, Dr. Salado held several leadership positions such as vice-president of the Spanish Optometric Society and board member of the SCCO Student Association. She has volunteered her time at several local vision screenings such as Care Harbor LA and Special Olympics, as well as traveled to El Salvador and Fiji as part of mission trips to provide free eye care to those in need. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and currently sits on the board of the Rio Hondo Optometric Society as Director of Education and President-Elect.

Dr. Salado is fluent in Spanish and in her free time she enjoys going to Disneyland, hiking with Dante (her loyal Labrador Retriever), and spending time with her husband, friends, and family.

Fabian Corona, MS, OD

Dr. Fabian Corona graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Studies, as well as a Master of Science in Global Medicine. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. While in optometry school he served as the study coordinator for the Contact Lens Assessment in Youth (CLAY) Study to evaluate whether certain behavioral or environmental factors of different age groups put them at higher risk for soft contact lens complications. He remains active in contact lens research, most recently serving as a collaborating individual investigator for the latest arm of the CLAY study in 2018.

He has volunteered his time to help provide eye care to the underserved in Peru and Fiji, as well as several communities across Southern California. Most recently he volunteered at Special Olympics in LA and has been involved with vision screenings for local school districts.

Dr. Corona was awarded Young Optometrist of the Year in 2019 by the California Optometric Association and is a past-president of the Rio Hondo Optometric Society, where he currently serves on the board of directors. His professional interests include diabetic eye care, scleral lens fittings, and myopia control.

He is fluent in Spanish and enjoys traveling with his wife (Dr. Salado).

Joe Parra, Office Manager

Joe has been in the optical industry for over 10 years.

He is an expert in interpreting vision insurance plans, helping with frame selection, completing frame adjustments, and providing contact lens education and training.

He offers a customized experience that allows patients to receive a unique and individual solution to their visual needs.
